About this book

The story opens with the skeletal remains of a Confederate soldier, found in the Paris Catacombs, which Annja Creed happens to see while she is in the city. A faded scrap of paper bearing the words Berceau de solitude links the bones to a treasure said to have affected the outcome of the American Revolution.

The trail carries Annja across the Atlantic and deep into the Old South. She is not the only one chasing the prize, and the rival is prepared to kill. The novel combines history, puzzle-solving and pursuit, which will suit readers who like quest-driven fiction.
