Terms of sale

These terms apply when you use booksbajar.com or buy from BooksBajar. They are written to be read, so please do.

Who we are

booksbajar.com is run by BooksBajar, a sole proprietorship based in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Contact details are at the end of this page.

The books

  • All books are new. We buy each copy from our distributor, Atlantic Books, after you order.
  • Book details (title, author, publisher, ISBN, description) come from the publisher and distributor. We correct errors when we find them; if a book you receive doesn't match the ISBN you ordered, you can return it free of charge.
  • Cover images show the edition listed. A reprint may have a slightly different cover design.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are in Indian rupees. The price shown is the price you pay: delivery is free and nothing is added at checkout.
  • Payment is cash on delivery.
  • If a price is shown wrongly because of an obvious error, we'll contact you before dispatch. You can choose to buy at the correct price or cancel.

Orders

When you place an order we email a confirmation. The contract is formed when we dispatch the book. We may cancel an order if the distributor can't supply the book, or if we can't verify the delivery details; we'll tell you if this happens.

Delivery, returns and cancellations

Delivery is free and usually takes 3–7 days. Details are on our delivery, returns and refunds and cancellations pages, which form part of these terms.

Your account

Keep your password private. You're responsible for orders placed from your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.

Liability

If something goes wrong with an order, our responsibility is limited to replacing the book or refunding what you paid for it. This doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the courts at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.

Grievances and contact

For complaints about an order or these terms, contact us. We acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and aim to resolve them within one month, as the E-Commerce Rules require.
