Mechwarrior: Dark Age #26: A Rending of Falcons

Malvina Hazen, Galaxy Commander of Clan Jade Falcon, is camped on the planet Skye with her warriors while they consolidate control over worlds taken from the Republic. A ship then appears above Skye, and its captain demands a Trial of Possession over a wartime doctrine he claims Malvina took from Clan Hell's Horses.

Malvina accepts the challenge and wins a single BattleMech combat. The victory strengthens her reputation and her ambitions for a bigger place in the Clan's halls of power. Her bold actions, however, may be the first step towards a civil war that could reshape far more than her own Clan.

This is the twenty-sixth book in the Dark Age sequence, as the title's numbering shows. It was published by Ace in 2007, with 320 pages and ISBN-13 9780451461599.
