Claire Kincaid works in public relations in Atlanta, and she is very good at fixing other people's problems, though not her own. When she arrives alone at a couples workshop, a stranger named Kevin Thomas steps in and poses as her fiancé. She is drawn to him, but she is determined to stay loyal to Rob Evans, the man she is set to wed.
The plot widens when long-buried family secrets bring Claire into a clash between her beloved grandmother Jams and her mother Janis, who sets out to find her own father's identity. Her family turmoil is still unfolding when a participant in a focus group run by her firm is killed, and the victim's teenage daughter arrives determined to find justice. Claire, Jams and the daughter set out to uncover who is responsible.
The stakes rise when Kevin returns and says Rob is not who he claims to be. Claire has to decide whom to trust, because a wrong choice could cost her everything. Edition note: published by Black Rose Writing in 2022, 276 pages. ISBN-13 9781685130862.
