This Springer volume gathers revised selected papers from two workshops held in Rodney Bay, St Lucia, in late February and early March 2011. One strand is the RLCPS 2011 workshop, which deals with practical cryptographic protocols and their standardisation. The other, WECSR 2011, takes up the ethics of security research.
The papers look at cryptography as it is actually deployed, alongside the moral questions that security research raises. The workshops ran in conjunction with the financial cryptography conference, and the volume reflects that wider setting.
Researchers in cryptography and computer security, and those working on financial and payment systems, will find the volume useful.
