About this book

La hija del aire, a Spanish-language dramatic work from 1653, is built on a mythological base. It tells the story of Semiramis, the queen of Assyria who founded Babylon. She is presented as seductive and warlike, and as born under the sign of violence.

The king of Lydia accuses her of seizing a power that should have passed to Ninias, her son. The accusation drives the plot forward.
